How is a zebra born?

Zebras are born like their domesticated cousins, the horse. The mother endures labor in a standing position. The zebra foal exits the birth canal front feet first, followed by the nose and head. The remainder of the body soon follows. The afterbirth usually drops within an hour of the foal's birth.
