Is boric acid good for bv?

my gyn just prescribed this to me because of bv reaccuring apparently its used when a certain bacteria has taken over and metrodozinal will clear it up but not for long this is supposed to restore your balance of bacteria in the vergina to normal its put into empty gelcaps and inserted every night for 30 days
