I know that the older iPods can be charged up to 1000 times. Can the iPod Touch 16 GB be charged the same amount of times?

All devices powered by standard lithium-ion batteries, such as the iPod Touch and similar devices, can be recharged up to 300 times before the battery loses noticeable capacity. Depending upon use and storage, after 1000 charges these lithium ion batteries will likely have lost more than half of their original capacity.
