How were German-Americans discriminated during World War 1?

They were basically treated as unloyal to the country, since they were from Germany. They were either looked as to be too sympathetic of the war, or possible spies for the Germans. They were mainly not trusted. Some were fired, jailed, or injured on a daily bases.
