You can say 'beautiful' to a man depending on what the subject is. Example: Isn't that swan the most beautiful creature you have ever seen.' However, if you are complimenting a man you would call him attractive or handsome or a knock out. You could tell him you think he has a beautiful spirit or soul and that is acceptable.
