How do you take a screen shot of your desktop?

Windows XP:

Press the Print Screen/SysRq key

The image of the desktop is now on the clipboard. To print it out or save it press WindowsKey+R type mspaint.exe and press Control+V

Windows Vista:

Start

type snipping tool in the search box

press enter
