Web browsing can be done on any operating system that has a web browser. There are Web Browsers available for AmigaOS, BeOS, Solaris,
Linux, FreeBSD, QNX, PalmOS (handheld PDAs), etc... There are even web browsers for DOS!
As to the physical hardware, any computer that has a display - be it a GUI, a text-interface, or even a series of blinking lights
- could be used for Surfing the net.
