According to the Social Security Administration, Jacob (24,774 births) and Emily (21,357 births) were the most popular boy and girl baby names respectively in the U.S. in 2006.
The next most popular boy names were Michael, Joshua, Ethan and Matthew. Emma, Madison, Isabella and Ava rounded out the top five girl names.
