How does a camel survive with adaptations in the desert?

Camels have many adaptations to desert life, including:

• long eyelashes to keep out the sand
• thick hooves to resist the heat of the sand
• the ability to get water from their food so they don't need to drink often.
• they have large fat stores in their humps in case it's a long time between meals
• they can drink enormous amounts at one time without hurting themselves.
