Camels have many adaptations to desert life, including:
- long eyelashes to keep out the sand
- thick hooves to resist the heat of the sand
- the ability to get water from their food so they don't need to drink often.
- they have large fat stores in their humps in case it's a long time between meals
- they can drink enormous amounts at one time without hurting themselves.
