claude monet - he uses short brush strokes to show a good use of colour

david hockney - he shows block colors and doesnt use much tone at all

hokusai - his work is very graphic but still has a lot of detail

whistler - he does more rural lanscapes using dull colours and his paintings are usually quite blurry
