Who was incharge of drawing the line of demarcation?

The Line of Demarcation was established by the Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494, which was negotiated between Spain and Portugal with the mediation of Pope Alexander VI. The Pope aimed to resolve disputes over newly discovered lands by granting Spain control of lands west of the line and Portugal control of lands to the east.
