How do you use veet in-shower hair removal cream for dry skin?

Instructions on the box state to put on, keep out of the shower for one or two minutes, get in the shower and keep water off of the cream for 2 to 6 more minutes. I have found that you can just stay out of the shower for the whole time and maybe turn on the shower for the steam, which is probably the helping factor for this product.
