What is the number of hunters in the US?

There are approximately 1 million licensed deer hunters in Pennsylvania.

Actually according to the Pa. Game Commission Annual Report there are only 795,000 resident hunters and approx. 65,000 non residents sold.

This includes tens of thousands of phantom license holders; people who have licenses issued in their name but who actually never go hunting. They are bought by family and friends in order to get more deer.
