How do you program for Mercedes-Benz SL320 1997?

I have a 1997 SL320 with the single button key. i got this key from the dealer .said i don't have to do anything .when i got home i try the key .the car will start but the door lock will not open or closed with remote control..i call the dealer they said that will be a extra ..
