Use an Appropriate Ladder

The ladder you use to clean your gutters should be sturdy and should rest against a solid surface. A common mistake is to rest the ladder against the gutters themselves. This can be very dangerous, as the gutters are typically made of aluminum and give out if the weight of a person is applied to them.

If you do not want to have to continually move a ladder to clean out the gutters, putting up scaffolding system is a good option. Scaffolding allows you to clean the entire length of the gutters at one time.
