How do you respond to a client with poor short term memory?

As you would to anyone else. Their condition may mean that they will forget they have asked you something and your reply (and they may therefore keep asking the same thing over and over), but that is no reason not to be civil to them and treat them 'in the moment' as you would anyone else.
