It varies, most hacking happens when you use the default passWord (commonly used are admin as username and passWord). For a secure and somewhat hack-proof, change passWord every month and control who knows it. Avoid using it in a wireless network, keep it off the internet. If you want to remotely view it, don't use dns services, I recommend using VPN or any form of tunneling services.
