Does felis catus and felis silvestris belong in the same class?

Felis catus is scientific name for domestic cats. Felis silvestris is scientific name for wildcats which are small cats that resemble domestic cats. In fact, domestic cats are descended from African wildcats. wildcats are wild cousins of domestic cats.
