How can an alien survive in Mercury?

The heavy metal "Mercury" is poisonous to us, but may not be to an alien.

The planet Mercury is extremely hot and dry, so there would not be much chance for life as we know it. Life as we *don't* know it could find Mercury a comfortable place to live, for all we know.
