How many stages of matter are there?

Traditionally, there are four primary stages of matter: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. However, scientists recognize additional states, such as Bose-Einstein condensates and fermionic condensates, which occur under extreme conditions. Other exotic states, like quark-gluon plasma and degenerate matter, also exist in specific environments.
