Why did Bryce began to change in the book Flipped?

The reason why Bryce changes because he starts to see Juli's personality. For example, when he reads the article of Juli in the sycamore tree, he starts to understand how much she cares about the tree, and gets what's it is like to up in the tree when he remembers how Juli describes it.
