Why did Hitler spend 9 months in prison?

The reason was that the state of Bavaria was steeped in corruption and rotten to the core. Its leaders were relieved when the governor of Landsberg (prison) wrote a glowing report on Hitler and his behaviour in prison and recommended him for very early release.
