Compare American panty hose size with European?

Step #1: Let's clarify some myths and misconceptions. A. stocking size and shoe size are not the same. In American sizing, stocking size is your woman's shoe size plus 2 1/2. B. There are at least 5 different sizing methods, American Classic for both full fashioned and circular knit stockings, European 8 through 10 1/2, European 0 - 5, United Kingdom P, S, M, L, XL, American S, M, L, American A, B, C, D. It is important to know that American and European Sizes are not the same, even though they appear to be. Please consult the chart below. The chart below is only for American shoe sizes.
