Claude Monet died in 1926 and was born in 1840. Answer 2:It is possible the question is supposed to mean Claude Monet. Strictly speaking, however, he is usually not referred to as just 'Claude'. Just 'Claude' is often written about the landscapist Claude Lorrain, (1600-1682). Comment: I concur about 'Claude' referring to 'Lorrain', but the question was in the 'Claude Monet' section, leading me to believe that 'twas this 'Claude' instead!
