Lord Alfred Tennyson was born on August 6, 1809. He was born in England and was the fourth of 12 children. He wrote a 6,000 line epic poem at the age of 12. He attended Trinity College in Cambridge. At the age of 41 he had established himself as one of the most popular poets of the Victorian era. He passed away on October 6, 1892.
