The clock on my 2001 Honda CR V won't light up what is the problem and how do I fix it?

This is very common, you must purchase a new clock. From time to time it may come on intermittently, but the clock is still broken. They are ridiculously expensive as well. MSRP $253.63.

Added: These clocks were manufactured as Liquid CrystalDiodes (LCD's) and when they burn out - that's the end of them.
