Are air soft guns legal in Massachusetts?

Yes they are me and a friend were arrested a while ago and got charged with "Minor in possession of an air gun"

the judge ruled that air soft guns are not airguns or bb guns so there is nothing illegal about us having them or using them

this was in a suburb of Boston in Norfolk County at the dedham district court house
