no, let's be realistic, since the Bar Kokhba revolt, Jews haven't stood up for themselves until a bunch of them realized in about 1900 that that method wasn't working, so they abandoned the "old jew" moved to Israel, and began farming and arming themselves in order to defend( and maybe attack, that is unclear) as they were living in an Arab country. Were it not for the "chalutzim", or pioneers, who abandoned the shtetl jew of Europe, Israel would likely not exist today. Today, the Jews fighting force is the Israel Defense Force. Before the Romans, Greeks, Persians, Medians, Babylonians, and Assyrians. The entire male over 21 population was part of the military, unless they fell under certain exceptions. (such as engaged, but not married, started a house, didn't finish, planted a field, haven't harvested. etc.)
