How can i speed up youku movies?

simply put all those silly video bit speed up things are a waste of time, just don't bother logging onto Chinese sites until the Chinese are all in bed, here in the UK tudou, 56.com and youku don't work very well at all during the day but from about 7pm they work just as well as veoh and divx etc apart from obviuosly picture quality which is very very poor on all Chinese sites.

Here's THE SELFISH METHOD !!

1. Right click the video screen (pref. whilst paused), select settings

Set to 'unlimited storage' on the settings tab. Youku/Tudou will not buffer much (certainly not the whole vid like utube/GV) but it will now at least buffer as much as the host permits.

2. The selfish part (it's messy but it works)

o Open the same clip in a few different tabs & pause them.

o Set each tab to around 10mins intervals (+- depending on vid. quality & max. buffer size)

o Wait for each to buffer (this will happen in parallel, so just wait for the 1st to buffer)

o Swap between tabs after viewing each segment

3. Repeat with each tab moved on X mins. if the staggered parts don't cover the whole vid.

If you're lucky (works for me) you won't even need to swap tabs, the first tab will find the next part (from the next tab) in you browser/ISP's cache (not sure which). I haven't tested this to the max (loads of tabs open) but it does work on many slow sites. The site may have restrictions on the number of connections per IP address.

That answer wasted alot of my time... Folks forget the tab thingy... it does NOT work...

Seems ALL Chinese video site3s are slower than cold molasses and the tabbing thing does NOT work... either avoid hte chineses or get a cooler fulll of your fave beverage and be prepared to CUSS at the constant stopiing and pausing... I have speedbit and it doesn't work on the Chinese sites... so... there ya go...
