Can a 8th grader date a 6th grader?

I am an eighth-grade girl and I like my friend's brother and he likes me too. But he is in the sixth grade and is 11 and I'm 13 but turning 14 in December but his birthday is in October so he will be 12 and I would say it's ok as long as you both like each other and it's not forced. We can't control how we feel about people if we like someone we like them we can't change that most of the time because yall probably really have feelings for each other.
