How did early settlers make jewellery?

There were silversmiths in the colonies that did various things in jewelry, pots, cups, and other things. Paul Revere was a silversmith. The making of jewelry dates back thousands of years. I have seen jewelry in museums that were 4-5 thousands of years old. The Ancient world and the early Celtic tribes all made and wore jewelry. Wonderful items have been found in ancient China, Rome, and in Egyptian tombs.
