How did the bay of pigs end?

The war kind of just ended, but it also ended by the US backing out and just leaving the Cuban exiles. But John F. Kennedy made a trade with Castro by trading 52-53 million dollars worth of food and medicine in order to get the exiles and troops which Castro had captured. And the fail of this invasion brought shame and embarrassment to JFK and to his administration.
