When do baby wombats survive on their own?

Baby wombats typically become independent at around 12 months of age. At this stage, they are weaned from their mother's milk and have developed the skills necessary to forage for food and navigate their environment. However, they may stay close to their mother for several more months, learning important survival skills before fully venturing out on their own.
