Which country has the best trained army in the world?

Are you having a laugh. Well you say best trained so lets think about this.

The American army is not. It has the most money, it has the most resources. But in terms of discipline and rigorous training, the American army often falls short in terms of training. It's mainly basic training backed up with heavy technology.

The British army is better than the Americans in terms of training. The British have had one of the most successful militaries in the world, and in the British army's history they have accumulated experience from colonizations, and built up a vast reservoir of knowledge about tactics, strategies and techniques that the Americans are barely aware off. Plus the SAS is one of the best trained units in the world.

Korea and China I think are extremely well disciplined, but not as well trained to the standards of the British. They are forced to obey, but that alone does not account to good training. I would place them both between the British and Americans.

So I think I will go with the Brits on this one.

I would also like to point out that:

a) the only time the British needed assistance from the Americans was in the World Wars, and even then it was only a matter of sheer numbers. The Americans by themselves would never have stood up to the full power of the Nazi's or Imperial Germany. The defeat of Germany in the wars was a collaborative effort.

b) I belive that it is America who begged the UK to join in Korea, Vietnam and Iraq. In fact it was the UK who managed to get enough support for the Iraq War, which America would not have been able to proceed with otherwise (see Coalition of the Willing). Even now you beg us to remain in Afghanistan. I believe that the assistance in the wars is fully paid off.

c) America has rarely fought a war by itself without actually fighting itself. The only war where America didn't have an ally was in the bloody civil war or Indian wars! In the war of independence you had France. You did as well in 1812. In the World Wars, you had the support of the Allies, and in every war since you have had NATO.

d) No-one won in the war of 1812. It was reverted to status quo ante bellum, or how it was before the war.

e) America has lost wars. The Vietnam War was lost. Korea ended in a stalemate. They lost in their involvement of the Russian Revolution. They lost in Beruit. So the whole 'stick with the side that doesn't lose' is a bit rubbish. And those 4 were faught when America had the biggest economy, and the biggest army, and the best tech. And they still lost.

f) The Delta forces were set up and trained by the British SAS. And the SAS have got better since, whilst Delta force mainly still utilizes old methods.

To other countries - the Americans supply weaponry, the British supply training and expertise. That should tell you all you need to know.
