Is there any bloodshed to be a member of the church of Satan?

No. LaVey said himself in numerous interviews (see scribd) if anyone wants to be a Satanist all they have to do is buy The Bible and read it. If you dont agree with it, then your not a Satanist, if you do agree with it, then you are one.

For the most part, anybody who is trying to follow the religion but doesn't whole heartdly agree with the philosophies behind it are discouraged. We generally take a stance towards people conforming to a religion, including our own. You've either got it, or you dont.

Some people also sign-up and pay a one-off lifetime fee ($200) to become an official member. Though this isn't a required in the least. All the membership gets you is a monthly newsletter, correspondence to keep you up-to-date on whats happening within the church and you also get a small card which can be used to get into any Church of Satan going on's.
