How can you get a copy of your statement from the IRS dated back ten years?

Form 4506 is Request for Copy of Tax Return. File Form 4506 to request an exact copy of a previous year's return (including all attachments, W-2s, etc.). The IRS charges a $57.00 fee for this service. It takes about two months to process. Exact copies generally are available for the current plus the past six years.

But the IRS generally keeps your tax records for at least 10 years. To verify that your return from 10 years ago is still available, call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
