I have an iPod that has no songs and my iTunes library has many songs but it won't sync automatically how can i sync my iPod with iTunes?

when you plug it in there will be an icon. click on it and on the bottom right there will be a button that says sync or when your iPod shows up on being connected to iTunes library click on file in the top left-hand corner and on that list there is an option sayng sync ipod
