Who did Barack Obama support?

If you are asking which political candidates President Obama has supported (campaigned for, spoken in favor of), as the leader of the Democratic Party, his job is to support fellow Democrats who are running for office. If you are asking what kinds of people in society he has supported (as in, he agrees with their ideas), he seems to like a mix of moderate conservatives as well as center-left figures. To cite two examples, he has expressed great respect for Professor Laurence Tribe of Harvard Law School (one of his mentors in college), and admires such people as Nelson Mandela. As for those groups to whom he gives charitable support, his favorite seems to be Fisher House, a residence for military families who are visiting their loved ones in hospitals and need a place to stay. He also supports a number of scholarships for poor children, and has donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs and the United Negro College Fund.
