If a person is in public, embarrassment is a terrible experience, especially for someone who is young. There are various ways to handle the situation: 1. Laugh it off and ignore what has happened. 2. Laugh it off, and speak to the person privately. 3. Politely, but firmly tell the person to stop causing embarrassment. A lot depends on the age of the person being embarrassed and the person who is making fun. If they are both similar in age, then one of the three suggestions above might work. If the person being made fun of is a younger brother/sister and the older one does not listen, it is a good idea to talk to parents. Sometimes, brothers and sisters do not really understand how much hurt they cause when they make fun of younger ones, and parents can often put an end to the problem if the big brother/sister will not listen.
