Why does my transmission clunk and then stop or slip while in reverse then i shift to drive it slips shut truck off and start again drive works fine?

probably something wrong with the transmission like a gear fault or a transmission glitch or overheat. Take it to a repair shop or do some test maitanenence yourself.
