Who does the job of medical coding and billing?

Generally called medical coders or medical billers, the folks who perform the task of preparing and processing medical bills for presentation to insurance (including Medicare and Medicaid) are generally well trained before landing the job. There are courses available in medical billing / coding at many technical schools and there are certifications one can obtain through coursework.
