To bring your grades up fast is all about setting goals for yourself to accomplish the greater goal of good marks. Like a small goal could be completing all your math homework. Then taking a small break to do something you enjoy like walking outside or getting a small snack. Then do a different piece of homework, taking another break, and once you've finished all your homework you won't feel as drained but more accomplished. Make sure that you finish the piece of homework that you were working on beforeyou take a break. Unless you have a project that takes place of all your homework, small intervals will help keep your mind clear and not as clouded. Also, before a test make a method that will help you remember important details. Ask your teachers how you are doing and if there is anything you could do as extra credit to improve your grades. I'm sure they will be happy to see your eagerness!
Answer
Visit your teachers for an honest appraisal of what they feel you could do to improve your grades in their class. Write the ideas down. Keep a planning book--most everyone needs one with our busy lives. In most classes, if you turn in the homework and assignments on time and do a reasonable job on them, you are mostly there. Start your homework the day it is assigned--when you hit a stopping point or an obstacle, ask for help. (I was so surprised to find that this is a major technique of my fellow 'A' students!). Having a network of friends is helpful for finding out if you've missed anything and for on the spot tutoring. Make sure you understand what people mean rather than just copying the answer--otherwise, you won't learn the lesson you need to.
If you notice that you are spending class time visiting with friends, ask to be seated elsewhere so that you attend to what you need to--freshman classes are often pretty wild. A good place is up front, away from the door. If you are sleeping in class, try to get a decent lunch (aka nutritional) and make sure you are in a quiet, uninterrupted, place for at least 9 hours a night (no phone, no computer, no TV).http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Good-Grades-With-Effort
