Why do rabbits stink?

Rabbit urine grows ammonia very quickly. It's a harmful chemical -- it can lead to breathing problems for your rabbit and even for you! Clean your bunny's litter every day or two; if it's in an enclosed space (e.g. if the litter box has a lid on it), clean it every day. Completely wash out the box sometimes, too, e.g. every month or two.
