Between the ages of 17 and 18, Albert Einstein worked on his studies in physics and mathematics while attending the Polytechnic Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. He struggled with some subjects but Excelled in others, particularly in physics. During this time, he also began to develop his ideas about the nature of light and relativity, laying the groundwork for his future groundbreaking theories. Additionally, he worked as a tutor and took on various jobs to support himself financially while pursuing his academic interests.
