What genre is The Black Stallion?

In the series P.S. this is what happens:

Sam gets back from CA.

Jake says he's gonna stick to her like glue to keep her safe,

Phantom gets captured by Linc Slocum,

Sam gets the Phantom's foal,

The Forsters barn gets burnt,

Linc goes to jail,

His son takes over the ranch,

Kit comes and visits the Ely's,

and in the very end Jake and Sam like each other.
