The Bachelor of engineering degree is usually based on more hard science and theory, while the bachelor of technology is usually based on application, i.e. more real-world use of the technology. A technology major might be considered to be able to come "up to speed" faster in a given area more quickly, while an engineering major might be considered more well rounded and more able to diverge into other areas as needed. My knowledge is 40 years old, but an engineering major is (was) considered, in the long run, to be more valuable than the technology major. After 40 years, of course, experience is the leading driver, and degree is meaningless. (I say this because I have neither degree, but, with my experience, I am considered more valuable than both degree paths, combined, but that is just an aside.)
