The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is also a fountain of life and is clean enduring forever according to God in The Bible.
Answer 2:
The beginning of wisdom harks back to before the formation of any organized religion. On This Side, in the flesh, it began through an analysis of cause and effect within the philosophical, mystical, and fledgling scientific community. On the Other Side, in the Spirit, which started much earlier, it began as trial and error in learning from the non-living higher power that many refer to as The Light, which judges all after death regardless of belief system. As more and more people returned from a near-death experience and/or had partial memory from being in the Spirit prior to life, and talked about how they learned that one's actions in life greatly impacts the quality of existence after bodily death: notions of heaven and hell emerged and The Golden Rule was formulated as the preeminent moral guideline. The basic concept of The Golden Rule - 'Do onto others as you would have them do unto you' - is found in all the world's major religions and in most minor ones as well.
