Did a black man invent coca cola?

The information concerning coke does not mention the man's race. Just that it was made by Dr. John Pembroke in 1886 and sold as a tonic. It cost him 70.00 to make and he only made 50.00 selling it. In 1887 a man by the name of Asa Chandler got the formula from it's creator and heavy advertising he sold more. From 1887 to 1900 sales jumped 400% and the Coke Cola company was established.
