When in public your husband always walks ahead what is the correct etiquette about this?

* The correct etiquette in Western culture is to walk side by side, but some men take long strides and it's hard for a woman to keep up. He should slow down and walk beside you. When walking out on the street the man should always be next to the road (he's suppose to protect you from traffic.)
