Yes and no. Any half dollar minted before 1965 is going to be worth at the very least $7.70-ish just based on melt value alone because they are 90% silver. However, halves minted after 1965 until 1970 contain 40% silver and are worth about $3.10 in melt value alone. Half dollars featuring Benjamin Franklin are going to be worth more than Kennedy halves when it comes to collector value simply because they don't make them anymore and a lot of 1964 Kenedies were horded away rather than spent and thus can be found in well-preserved states. After 1970 there are some proofs worth some money and a few coins not intended for circulation which might be worth more than face, but the money is mostly in pre-1970 halves.
